Ontario’s economic strength is built on partnership, productivity, and a deeply integrated relationship with the United States. During his recent visit to Washington, Premier Doug Ford met with U.S. leaders to advocate for stable, rules based trade and to address tariff challenges affecting Ontario workers and businesses. Ontario is the number one export destination for 17 U.S. states and supports millions of American jobs while driving growth here at home. In 2024, Ontario exported approximately $220 billion in goods to the United States. From automotive manufacturing and advanced technology to agriculture and critical minerals, our cross-border supply chains remain interconnected and essential to protecting local jobs and long term prosperity.”. — MPP Effie Triantafilopoulos

A Permanent Tribute at Burnet Park

As we mark Black History Month, it is meaningful to see our community continue to honour Oakville’s deep and enduring Black history.
The Town of Oakville recently unveiled the Samuel and Martha Adams Memorial at Burnet Park, a permanent art installation recognizing the legacy of Samuel Adams, a free African American who settled in Bronte in the 1850s and became a prominent member of Oakville’s Black community.
Thoughtfully designed by SOCA Studio of Contemporary Architecture, a Black-owned Toronto-based architecture and urban design studio, the installation incorporates sculptured iron benches paying tribute to Adams’ profession as a blacksmith, along with salvaged stones from the foundation of the historic Adams family home.
