This week, The Ontario government announced it is investing over $1.8 billion in housing-enabling infrastructure funding, aiming to facilitate the construction of at least 1.5 million homes by 2031. Our government continues to support municipalities in expediting critical infrastructure projects essential for increased housing development. Ontario Connecting More People to Primary Care Teams in Oakville

The Ontario government is investing $1,647,310 to connect more people to primary care teams in Oakville through Support House. This is part of Ontario’s $110 million investment to connect up to 328,000 people to primary care teams, bringing the province one step closer to connecting everyone in Ontario to primary care.

Ontario currently leads the country with 90 percent of people connected to a regular health care provider. As a next step to close the gap for people not connected to primary care in the community, the province is supporting the expansion of interprofessional primary care teams in Oakville.

Advocating for Ontario’s Orthodox Christian Community

I was honoured to rise in the legislature in support of Bill 167, the Orthodox Christian Heritage Week Act 2024. This bill would designate the seven-day period beginning on Orthodox Easter Sunday as Orthodox Christian Week.

Its enactment will serve to underscore the significance of Orthodox communities throughout our province, demonstrating our recognition and appreciation for their invaluable contributions to our cultural, social, and economic well-being. I express my gratitude to MPP Tom Rakocevic for sponsoring this important legislation.
