I had the pleasure of joining my MPP colleagues at the Magna School of Skilled Trades at Sheridan College, where the next generation of skilled workers is receiving top-notch training to power Ontario’s future. It’s inspiring to see the innovation and dedication driving our province’s workforce forward.

Later, I visited Spark Power to announce an exciting $2.5 million investment through the Skills Development Fund. This funding will enhance training programs, ensuring workers have the skills needed for the high-demand jobs of tomorrow.

Together, we’re building a stronger, more resilient Ontario, where opportunity thrives and talent leads the way.

I was honoured to join Voice for deaf and hard of hearing children’s Annual General Meeting to celebrate their incredible contributions to Ontario’s deaf and hard-of-hearing community. As one of the largest support networks of its kind, Voice has been a leader in advocacy, education, and family support.

I was proud to highlight the $10,400 Ontario Trillium Foundation grant that supported the purchase of assistive listening devices for their summer camp, helping children and families fully participate in every activity. This investment reflects our Ontario government’s commitment to fostering stronger, more connected communities.

Commemoration of Canadian Peacekeepers

This week, I rose in the Ontario Legislature to honour the sacrifices of over 120,000 Canadians who gave their lives in defence of freedom and peace. On Remembrance Day, we reflected on their courage and the legacy they leave behind.

This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the illegal invasion and occupation of Cyprus, where 25,000 Canadian soldiers have served to help keep the peace. I was honoured to visit the United Nations Buffer Zone to pay my respects at a monument dedicated to the 28 Canadian peacekeepers who lost their lives.
Lest we forget.

Ontario Returning Over $2.5 Billion to Workers and Businesses Through Fee Reductions and WSIB Rebates

The Ontario government is keeping costs down for workers and businesses by giving back over $2.5 billion by rebating Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) surpluses to hundreds of thousands of safe employers, reducing business premium rates and investing in keeping workers healthy and safe. These ground-breaking measures will pump billions of dollars back into the economy, helping to rebuild Ontario’s economy and support workers.
“We’re laser focused on keeping costs down for workers and businesses in Ontario, putting more money back into people’s pockets and helping create better jobs and bigger paycheques,” said Premier Doug Ford. “The rebates and support for safe workplaces being announced today will help keep Ontario’s economy competitive as we continue to compete for and attract game-changing investments.”
