New Hospital Beds Coming to Oakville & Milton

“Our government is continuing to strengthen health care in Halton with a major investment that will add up to 123 new hospital beds at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and Milton District Hospital over the next 18–24 months. These beds will be created through the renovation of existing space and will support a new regional hub to serve families across Halton Region.
This investment was announced as part of Ontario’s 2025 Economic Outlook and Fiscal Review and reflects our ongoing commitment to expanding hospital capacity, improving patient flow, and reducing wait times. As our community grows, these additional beds will help ensure more patients can receive high-quality care close to home, when and where they need it.
MPP Effie J. Triantafilopoulos joined Minister Stephen Crawford, MPP Joseph Racinsky, MPP Zee Hamid, Mayor Rob Burton, and Halton Healthcare leadership for the announcement. In the press release, she highlighted the impact this investment will have for families in Oakville North–Burlington:
“The creation of 123 new beds…is an important step in ensuring that families in Oakville North-Burlington and across Halton have access to the high-quality care they need closer to home. Our government is committed to strengthening health care and building a healthier future for everyone in Ontario.”
This is another important step toward expanding local health infrastructure and making sure our hospitals have the resources they need to serve our fast-growing region” .—MPP Effie Triantafilopoulos

Ontario Celebrated Skilled Trades Week

The last week marks Skilled Trades Week, introduced through our government’s Working for Workers Six Act and celebrated annually during the first week of November to honour the builders of our past, present, and future.

From the bridges and hospitals that connect our communities to the homes and schools that nurture the next generation, Ontario’s tradespeople have built the foundation of our prosperity. To deliver on our capital plan, we will need these men and women to continue building for years to come.

Under Premier Ford’s leadership, our government is making historic investments to ensure Ontario remains a province built by workers — for workers. We are breaking down barriers for youth to enter the trades through Level Up! career fairs, training over one million workers through the Skills Development Fund, training up to 12,000 more apprentices in the next three years, and expanding As-of-Right labour mobility so experienced tradespeople from across Canada can bring their skills to Ontario easier than ever before.
