“Across Oakville North-Burlington, students are settling into the 2026-27 school year, adjusting to routines and developing new skills. Teachers, early childhood educators and support staff are helping students feel supported and ready to learn.
In Ontario, eligible elementary homeroom teachers receive $750 through the new Classroom Supplies Fund, based on input from more than 23,000 Ontario teachers, while $30.6 billion in education funding supports student achievement.
The new Grade 10 financial literacy graduation requirement builds skills in budgeting, saving, taxes, credit and debt management.
Ontario is investing $30 billion over 10 years to build, expand and renew schools. This fall, 35 new and expanded schools will provide more than 18,300 student spaces and 1,130 licensed child care spaces.
Since 2018, our community has received approval for six new schools and one expansion, creating approximately 5,400 student spaces and 440 child care spaces. Oakville 5 Public School is a $43.2 million investment that will create 926 student spaces and 88 licensed child care spaces, opening in the fall of 2028.
These investments are helping Oakville North-Burlington keep pace with growth and ensure local students and families have the spaces, resources and opportunities they need to succeed. Together, we are building stronger schools and a stronger community for the future.”

Honouring the Enthronement of Archbishop Apostolos
It was an honour to attend the Enthronement of His Eminence Archbishop Apostolos of Canada at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
This historic occasion marks a new chapter for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Canada and Greek Orthodox communities across the country.

As His Eminence Archbishop Apostolos begins this new chapter of spiritual leadership, we wish him wisdom, strength and God’s blessings as he serves the Greek Orthodox community across Canada.
Our gratitude also goes to His Eminence Archbishop Sotirios for more than five decades of faithful service and dedication.

Improving Traffic Safety at Vaishno Devi Mandir
I recently met with the temple’s leadership team to discuss ongoing traffic and safety concerns near the entrance, including speeding, difficult left turns, lengthy delays and challenges during busy services and major religious events.
With the Highway 407 exit located nearby, traffic conditions can become particularly challenging for families, worshippers and drivers in the area.
I will continue raising these concerns with the Town of Oakville, Halton Region and the Ministry of Transportation as we work toward practical solutions to improve traffic flow and safety for the community.
Thank you to the Vaishno Devi Mandir leadership team for their advocacy and continued commitment to community safety.

Wishing Athena continued success as an emerging literary talent in Canada.

Strengthening Ontario-Greece Relations
Pleased to join Premier Doug Ford for a meaningful bilateral meeting with representatives from Greece and Canada during the visit surrounding the Enthronement of His Eminence Archbishop Apostolos of Canada.

Ontario Starts Construction on Pickering Nuclear Refurbishment
When the previous government planned to shut down Pickering, our government chose to protect 4,500 jobs and create 30,500 new jobs by doubling down on Canadian workers, technology and energy sovereignty,” said Stephen Lecce, Minister of Energy and Mines.
“Today, we are marking a national achievement as we begin work on Canada’s largest clean energy infrastructure project and strengthen our made-in-Ontario nuclear supply chain. The best way Ontario can fight back against President Trump is to build big, which is why we are saying yes to 30,500 jobs, 38 more years of clean power and a stronger Ontario economy. I’m proud that we are not only moving this historic project forward but also awarding contracts that will keep more than 90 per cent of project costs right here in Ontario.”
