$35,000 Ontario Creates grant supports MCMXVI Inc. and opportunities for emerging artists

OAKVILLE – The Ontario government is continuing to support the province’s vibrant music industry with a $35,000 grant to MCMXVI Inc. through Ontario Creates’ Ontario Music Investment Fund (OMIF) – Music Company Development stream.
MCMXVI Inc. is an Oakville-based music company that combines artist management and boutique label operations into a single, scalable model. The company will use the support to advance artist activities for its diverse roster of six artists, helping emerging musicians develop their careers and bring their work to audiences.
This is the third Ontario Creates grant awarded to MCMXVI Inc., following grants of $7,000 and $20,000 in 2025/26. With this latest investment, the company has received a total of $62,000 in Ontario Creates support.
For Oakville North–Burlington, provincial investments in Ontario’s music and creative industries help strengthen the broader regional economy and support the vibrant network of artists, businesses and cultural organizations across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Ontario’s music sector also contributes to the province’s tourism economy, attracts talent and investment, and provides opportunities for emerging artists to build careers close to home.
“Our government understands that a thriving creative economy is an important part of a strong Ontario, and it is encouraging to see MCMXVI Inc. continue to grow with the support of Ontario Creates,” said Effie J. Triantafilopoulos, MPP for Oakville North–Burlington. “This $35,000 investment, following previous grants of $7,000 and $20,000, brings MCMXVI’s total Ontario Creates support to $62,000. It is a strong example of how our government is helping Ontario music companies develop emerging talent, strengthen their businesses and create new opportunities in our province’s creative economy. I am pleased to see these investments supporting the music sector that contributes so much to communities across Oakville North–Burlington, the GTA and Ontario.”
The grant is being provided through the Ontario Music Investment Fund: Music Company Development stream, which supports the development of competitive and sustainable music companies in Ontario that take risks discovering and developing talent and bringing it to market. The program supports business activities focused on expanding artist rosters, professional recording and production, job creation, enhancing business capacity and increasing and strengthening diversity within Ontario’s music industry.

Ontario Creates is an agency of Ontario’s Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Gaming that promotes, enhances and leverages investment, jobs and original content creation across the province’s creative industries, including music, film and television, book publishing, magazine publishing and interactive digital media.
