OAKVILLE NORTH-BURLINGTON— The Ontario government is investing in community safety and inclusion in Oakville North–Burlington through the Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant, helping protect places of worship and culturally significant spaces from hate-motivated incidents.

As part of the province’s 2025–26 investment in the program, the Islamic Circle of North America, Islamic Circle of North America — Oakville has been approved for $80,000 to enhance safety and security measures at its facility in Oakville.

Since the expansion of the Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant in 2023, Ontario has invested $58.5 million to support faith-based and cultural organizations across the province in strengthening security, preventing hate-motivated incidents, and ensuring community members can gather safely.

“Our government is committed to ensuring that every Ontarian can worship, gather, and celebrate their culture in safety and peace,” said Effie J. Triantafilopoulos, MPP for Oakville North–Burlington. “This $80,000 investment for the Islamic Circle of North America will help strengthen security measures and protect community members, because racism, hate, and discrimination have no place in Ontario.”

“At a time when incidents targeting vulnerable communities are on the rise, this funding is not only timely—it is essential. It enables organizations like ICNA Canada to take meaningful, proactive measures to strengthen the safety and security of our spaces, while continuing to serve the broader public with confidence and resilience. We appreciate the leadership and commitment demonstrated by all those who supported this initiative and look forward to continued collaboration to ensure that community safety remains a sustained priority across Ontario. Strategic investments such as this are vital to building safer, more inclusive, and more resilient communities for the long term.” said Raees Ahmed, COO of the Islamic Circle of North America – Canada.

The Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant provides funding for measures such as security equipment, building upgrades, training, and planning that help organizations prevent and respond to hate-motivated incidents.

Ontario continues to work with faith-based, cultural, and community organizations to combat hate, promote inclusion, and keep communities safe and unified.
