As your MPP, I’m proud to share a collection of programs and resources available to businesses and organizations in our community. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a growing manufacturer, or a large-scale investor, these supports can help your business scale, innovate, and succeed right here in Ontario.

Invest Ontario

  • Objective: Support strategic investments in Ontario’s advanced manufacturing, life sciences, and technology sectors.
  • Eligibility: Companies making strategic investments focused on priority sectors.
  • Support Available: Customized insight on market opportunities, incentives, talent, and immigration for new or expanding businesses.

Regional Development Program (Eastern & Southwestern Ontario Development Funds)

  • Objective: Encourage economic development in Eastern and Southwestern Ontario.
  • Eligibility: Businesses with 3+ years of operation, 10+ employees (5 in rural areas), minimum investment of $500K ($200K in rural), and job creation.
  • Support Available: Loans: Up to 15% to a max of $5 million. Grants: Up to 15% in special cases.

Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness (AMIC) Stream

  • Objective: Boost competitiveness in advanced manufacturing.
  • Eligibility: Ontario-based businesses in sectors like aerospace, automotive, ICT, life sciences, and steel with 10+ employees and 3+ years of operation.
  • Support Available: Loans: Up to 15% of eligible costs, max $5 million. Grants: In specific cases.

Ontario Together Trade Fund (OTTF)

  • Objective: Strengthen Ontario’s resilience to U.S. trade disruptions by supporting businesses expanding into new markets.
  • Eligibility: Ontario businesses investing $200K+ in eligible projects aligned with trade diversification/security goals.
  • Support Available: Funding based on project impact.

Trade-Impacted Communities Program (TICP)

  • Objective: Support communities facing economic disruption due to U.S. trade issues.
  • Eligibility: Stream 1: Local economic development projects. Stream 2: Large-scale cluster/industrial transformation.
  • Support Available: Stream 1: Up to $2M. Stream 2: Up to $10M.

Life Sciences Innovation Fund (LSIF)

  • Objective: Support early-stage life sciences and health tech companies in commercializing their innovations.
  • Eligibility: Ontario-based early-stage companies focused on human health.
  • Support Available: Up to $500,000 in co-investment funding. Currently not accepting applications.

Life Sciences Scale-Up Fund (LSSUF)

  • Objective: Help Ontario-based life sciences SMEs grow and scale.
  • Eligibility: Ontario-based or relocating SMEs focused on healthcare innovation.
  • Support Available: Up to $2.5 million for up to 33% of eligible costs. No further funding currently available.

Ontario Automotive Modernization Program (O-AMP)

  • Objective: Modernize and improve competitiveness of Ontario’s automotive supply chain.
  • Eligibility: Ontario-based SMEs with <500 employees and < $1B global revenues; 50%+ sales must be in automotive sector.
  • Support Available: Grants up to $150,000 for up to 50% of project costs.

Intellectual Property Ontario (IPON)

  • Objective: Help innovators protect and leverage intellectual property.
  • Eligibility: Innovators, researchers, and companies operating in Ontario. Additional support for equity-deserving groups.
  • Support Available: Up to $100,000/year (max $300,000); +$25,000 for eligible groups.

Ontario Made Manufacturing Investment Tax Credit

  • Objective: Support manufacturers investing in buildings, machinery, and equipment.
  • Eligibility: Ontario-based corporations investing in manufacturing and processing.
  • Support Available: 15% refundable tax credit up to $2 million annually.

Regional Innovation Centres (RICs)

  • Objective: Support entrepreneurs and technology innovators with mentoring, funding, and commercialization guidance.
  • Eligibility: Startups and early-stage innovation/tech businesses across Ontario.
  • Support Available: Advisory services, workshops, and investor connections through 18 RICs provincewide.

Business Advisory Services (MEDJCT)

  • Objective: Support SMEs with scaling, compliance, and government navigation.
  • Eligibility: Ontario-based SMEs (10–500 employees) producing tradable goods/services.
  • Support Available: One-on-one advisory on capital access, business growth, government procurement, export readiness, and more.
